TIME WITH SETH

So Sunday and Monday, Seth had some much needed time off..not a whole day of course, but two half days; which I guess essentially equals one whole day. You see, lately Seth has been working 7 days a week..the lovely life of a golf pro. So, it was wonderful to have him home..I actually got to take a uninterrupted shower and catch up on some things, like dishes and laundry, while he held Olivia. And it was also nice to be with Seth, to catch up and connect again. Olivia was her normal smiley self yesterday and Seth enojoyed watching her smile and coo. I just love watching him with her. She is really starting to respond to Seth and his antics..it's hilarious to watch.

Just a few more days until I go back to work. I'm looking forward to the routine of work and seeing my OB buddies..i do miss the "girl talk", BUT I am super nervous about leaving her. I think Seth will do fine with her, but sometimes she has her moments where she just feels like screaming and that is really hard for Seth to handle. I mean who isn't bothered by crying. He has said several times, "well maybe she just needs to cry". NO WAY will I let her cry...too sad. If she is crying..there is reason and she needs to be comforted. Occasionally he can be a bit harsh. So, I've tried to explain that you can't spoil an infant..I've even had him read passages in my new book about soothing babies, "The Happiest Baby on the Block". It did seem to open his eyes a bit, but for Seth to admit he was wrong takes well..I think I can recall only two times he has admitted that! :)
So my babysitters are going to be a combination of my parents and my sister-in-law. Originally, I was going to get some outside help and I had started making phone calls and asking around while I was on bedrest, but when she was born, my mother insisted that family be the one to watch her. Which is great..but I don't want feel like a burden. I'm excited for Bobi, my sister-in-law to watch her. Her girl, Jordyn and Zoe are so good around her..they just adore her!
I'm sure all mothers go through the stress of going back to work, but i'm sure I will cry all the way to work! She has been my life for the past 8 weeks and I know her every movement and cry and what they mean. It's going to be difficult to give up the control..i just don't want to picture her having a meltdown because someone doesn't know what to do with her. That breaks my heart!
